Warning – probable bad language ahead!
This is a replacement page for my computer consultancy business page. The previous one was on a host that had crept up in expense and down in features while my back was turned.
Why was my back turned? Well, returning to paid employment, major surgery, then straight into Covid lockdown, and a house move in the middle of it, all contributed.
So, although my technical skills are fine (if not excellent!), my business ineptitude (which is related to not billing my clients a realistic rate for my time), means that I REALLY don’t want to do this any more.
Software development used to be fun! Now it’s all about shit like social media, privacy concerns (for people who post images of every aspect of their lives!), hatred and fake news.
And software (and many other things) are getting worse. People just don’t give a shit any more. “Oh, It’ll do, we can fix it later, or fix it in software” seems to be the prevailing attitude.
So, this website is slowly turning into the rants of a Grumpy Old Bastard!
